Autumn 2026 brings a mix of faith-centred cinema, gospel voices and music-led storytelling. A new film from for KING + COUNTRY is on the way, Tyler Perry is bringing a choir of gospel favourites to Netflix, and Cork audiences will have an Irish festival premiere of Congo Boy with a live performance by Dublin-based Chris Kabs.
This soundtrack-focused guide covers five films and one documentary. The titles do not all share the same faith perspective: Congo Boy is a coming-of-age musical drama, while DÍGÍ: Hidden Reflection is an Irish premiere event. We have separated confirmed soundtrack information from details that have not yet been announced.
DRUMMER BOY — A CHRISTMAS MUSICAL SET DURING THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION
Directed by brothers Ben and Joel Smallbone, Drummer Boy follows two brothers whose choices place them on opposing sides of the American Revolutionary War. The story also follows a young drummer boy and an enslaved woman searching for freedom. Angel describes it as a live-action Christmas musical, so yes: this is a Christmas film, even though its historical setting is the Revolution.
Joel and Luke Smallbone wrote the original music. The announced 13-track soundtrack features the cast, new cinematic songs, reimagined Christmas classics and for KING + COUNTRY’s version of “Drummer Boy.” “Same Blood,” performed by the cast, is already available and is a good first listen. The film is scheduled for US and Canadian cinemas from 6 November; Angel says international dates will be announced separately, and we have not found an Irish cinema listing yet. Some production was filmed in Ireland.

THE GOSPEL OF CHRISTMAS — GOSPEL ROYALTY FOR THE HOLIDAYS
Tank plays Isaac, a preacher sent with his wife Rebecca (Fantasia Barrino) to rebuild a struggling family church in New York. The Netflix story follows Isaac as he faces doubt, temptation and an adversary while trying to restore hope in the church and neighbourhood.
The soundtrack is produced by Kirk Franklin and brings together contemporary and classic gospel, rap and holiday music. The cast includes Fred Hammond, Shirley Caesar, Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Ann Nesby and members of The Clark Sisters. Netflix has scheduled the film for 11 November 2026. A full song list has not been released, so we will add track highlights when official soundtrack details arrive.

CONGO BOY — MUSIC, FAMILY AND AMBITION ON THE ROAD TO CORK
Rafiki Fariala’s musical drama follows 17-year-old Robert, who dreams of a career in music while trying to care for his younger siblings in Bangui, Central African Republic. With his parents imprisoned and civil conflict disrupting daily life, Robert must balance school, odd jobs and his musical ambitions. Music sits at the heart of Robert’s determination.
Irish screening: the Cork International Film Festival lists Congo Boy for Friday, 20 November at 6:15 pm at MTU Cork School of Music. The screening is paired with a musical performance by Dublin-based Chris Kabs. Check the festival page for ticket and event updates.

GOD WITH US — A MODERN-DAY NATIVITY STORY
Jimmy Jenkins’ modern-day parable centres on Mary Anne Thomas and Joseph “Junie” Love, childhood sweethearts whose lives are transformed by an unexpected pregnancy and a divine mission. The cast includes Aspen Kennedy, Rotimi, Ashley Rios, Gregory Alan Williams, Clifton Powell, Roger Guenveur Smith and Lil Rel Howery.
The film is scheduled for select US cinemas from 13 November 2026. We could not verify an Irish release date or distributor, so Irish availability remains unconfirmed. A soundtrack album or full song list has not been announced in the information currently available; the trailer is the best published preview of the film’s musical atmosphere.

DÍGÍ: HIDDEN REFLECTION — AN IRISH INVITATION-ONLY PREMIERE
DÍGÍ: Hidden Reflection is described as a story about courage, identity and purpose, captured in its tagline: “Two sides, one soul, one purpose.” Its Dublin premiere is scheduled for Friday, 20 November 2026, with red-carpet arrivals from 5:30 pm and the screening at 7:00 pm at Good Counsel Luffey Gaels GAA & Camogie Club, Davitt Road, Drimnagh. The event is strictly by invitation. DJ AY Babs and MCs Omoadugbo and Jay Asolo are listed for the evening.
No soundtrack or music release information has been announced yet.
FATHERLESS NO MORE — A DOCUMENTARY ALREADY AVAILABLE TO STREAM
One important update: Fatherless No More is not an upcoming release. Apple TV lists the documentary as a 2025 film, and it is also listed on Prime Video. It follows former Super Bowl champion and Orlando pastor Timothy Johnson, who answers a call to live in an RV on Rikers Island and bring hope and support to people inside the jail. CeCe Winans is among the film’s producers; Kayla Johnson and Ashly Robinson direct.
We have not found an official soundtrack album or song list for the documentary. Its central story is one of service, redemption and the human cost of fatherlessness, rather than a music-led feature.

WHAT TO LISTEN FOR
For soundtrack collectors, Drummer Boy currently offers the clearest confirmed track to start with: “Same Blood,” alongside a forthcoming 13-track soundtrack. For The Gospel of Christmas, Kirk Franklin’s producer role and the cast’s gospel legacy make the soundtrack one to watch, although song titles have not yet been announced. For God With Us, Congo Boy and DÍGÍ, we will update this guide as official song credits, albums and Irish availability become clearer.
For Irish audiences, the most definite date to put in the diary is Congo Boy at Cork International Film Festival on 20 November.
