Please only submit another person’s personal information when authorised to do so. Do not send sensitive personal information unless we have specifically asked for it and explained why it is needed.
3. Why we use information
We use information to answer enquiries and manage submissions; provide accounts, memberships, bookings and orders; send newsletters to people who subscribed; operate, maintain and protect the website; and prepare and publish selected event listings, news, reviews, interviews, profiles and community content. For these purposes, our legal bases may include steps taken at your request before a contract, performance of a contract, legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating the service and communicating with contributors, and your consent where required. You may unsubscribe from newsletters at any time. We will not publish private contact details unless they are intended for publication or you have agreed.
Some information is needed to respond to you or provide an account, membership, booking or order. If you do not provide it, we may be unable to complete that request. Newsletter subscription is optional.
4. When we share information
We may share information with authorised GMI staff or contributors who need it for their work, service providers supporting hosting and maintenance, email or newsletter delivery, account and membership administration, event bookings, payment processing or website security (where those services are used), and where required by law. We do not sell personal information for another organisation’s direct marketing.
Information you ask us to publish, such as an event listing, artist profile or editorial feature, will be visible to the public and may be indexed by search engines or copied by others. External websites and services linked from Gospelmusic.ie have their own privacy practices.
5. International transfers
Our website is hosted by AfterHost/LiquidNet. Some service providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where a transfer is made, we will use a transfer mechanism and safeguards required by data protection law.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for its purpose, then delete it or securely dispose of it. Enquiries and submissions are kept while we handle them and for a limited period afterwards for follow-up or records; newsletter details until you unsubscribe; membership, booking, order, donation and financial records for the period needed to administer the service and meet legal or accounting obligations; and security logs for the period needed to protect and maintain the site.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Gospelmusic.ie may use cookies or similar technologies. Strictly necessary technologies help the site work, for example to maintain a session or remember essential settings. Non-essential analytics or marketing cookies will only be used after consent where required. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect site functions. We will provide information about optional cookies and their purposes where they are used.
8. Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to access, correct, erase or restrict use of your personal information, object to processing, or receive certain information in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time; this does not affect earlier processing. These rights are subject to legal limits and exceptions. To make a request, contact info@gospelmusic.ie.
You may also complain to Ireland’s Data Protection Commission. Information about your rights and how to contact the Commission is at dataprotection.ie/en/individuals/know-your-rights/right-be-informed-transparency-article-13-14-gdpr.
9. Automated decisions
We do not use Gospelmusic.ie to make decisions about you solely by automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
